Our grade 1 students did an awesome job walking & running for Terry Fox today. Together, the grade 1 students ran over 258 laps (WOW!) In addition, our class raised $330 for this amazing cause! CONGRATS!

Our students have been exploring the various seasons found in Canada. We have been talking about seasonal changes along with activities and clothing items worn in each season. Today students took pleasure in singing along with this 4 seasons song:

We talked about classroom rules along with the various areas students can explore. Please note that student information sheets were sent home today. The school would like them returned with any necessary changes by Tuesday September 12, 2017. I thank you all in advance for reviewing this critical information. Our September classroom newsletter was also sent home today. Please read it, as there is a wealth of valuable information pertaining to the learning that will unfold along with key reminders. Please note that agendas have not yet arrived. Homework folders will be sent home tomorrow. They will contain a reading log along with passwords for Raz-Kids and Dreambox, which are fantastic educational programs to support student learning. My expectation is that students read each night 10-15 minutes and that their reading log is filled out. I would appreciate your support regarding this matter, as literacy has a strong correlation to students' success in all subject matters. Hello all Grade 1 families.
